"TITUSVILLE - State Rep. Bob Allen was arrested Wednesday afternoon at a local park after offering to perform a sex act on an undercover officer in exchange for $20, police said.

So Rudy Guiliani's South Carolina campaign manager was arrested last week for sale and distribution of cocaine and now John McCain's Florida campaign manager has been charged with prostitution. What the hell is going on with the GOP?

I don't think the media is "ignoring this, per se. But, while there are of course the occasional sleazy Democrats (normal for any political party)--how would it sound if the press headlined EVERY one of the Republicans who are getting caught engaging in unethical, deviant, and dowright criminal acts?
Because you're right--this is NOT normal. And its not a "witch-hunt"--all these people are getting caught red-handed or admitting their guilt. Foley, Haggerty, Vitter, Libbey, Wolfowitz, etc.--I can't even keep track of the ones just on the national level.
Something is very sick inside the GOP--and it goes way beyond the normal political BS. This is getting downright creepy!

Well, the only "liberal" part of the media are many of the reporters and some of the schools who educate them.
The stories that get covered and shown to the public are controled by others------mostly conservative people who own and controll the big 6 media corporations.
Its kind of strange, its like the "employees" are liberal and the "controlling ownership" are Conservative.
So who wins out it what gets shown to the public?

Good question. Any person democrat or Republican should be arrested if they are doing anything illegal. I can not answer your question but the answer might be because they are so involved with Miss New Jersey and a non news story vs reporting on this.

Well, given that you're quoting a news article, it sounds like the media wasn't ignoring the story.
Why only that local station? Because it's a state campaign worker -- one of lots out there. It's not national news.

You liked to a newspaper story.
I googled [representative "bob allen" prostitution] and got 552 hits.
Evidently, the media is not ignoring it.

Allen sounds like a sicko but what do the actions of other people have to do with Guilliani and McCain? As long as it wasn't them, I don't care. Lots of the Clinton's friends have done bad things but it does not effect how I feel about them. Who cares what they do?

It just broke locally, give it a few hours and it will hit the national news. It is hardly a huge story tho, it happens too frequently of late... few are even noticing anymore.

because he's a state senator... (works in the state capitol)
really only senators on the national level get any attention... (works in D.C.)
a Republican asked a very similar question about a dem state senator a day or so ago and this only proves how true it is...

I just don't think there is any audience for this stuff. The Young people want to know about Angela, Paris and Kelly, not dirty, disgusting, corrupt, nasty and hypocritical GOPers.

I don't know about the rest of the country, but there was quite a bit of coverage of Al Gore's son and his problems here in Los Angeles' "liberal media."
