What would happen in every US city if the police and army were disbanded?

Remember the civil disorder and looting in New Orleans after Katrina removed police intervention?

Yes, but to make the comparison fair, you'd also have to bomb for a couple of weeks before invading, then you'd have to disband the entire government bureaucracy, fire half the university professors, close down most of the factories because you didn't like the way they were owned, all while guarding the cities with a very small contingent of troops who had no clear instructions on what to do. Oh, and then you'd have to use all of the palaces and government buildings for your generals and throw prisoners of war in the dungeon that the former tyrant used.

To complete the nation's initial humiliation, you'd also have to be sure to leave the national archeological treasures unguarded, wall off the finest neighborhood for the use of your officials, and tear down a 110 acre parcel full of historic buildings to build an imperial embassy.

Then you'd have to appoint a viceroy to rule a "provisional" government for a couple of years, and finally install and prop up a government that almost no one respects.

Cory answers irritatingly. If the Iraqis were left alone would there be chaos in the first place? And secondly, having invaded and ballsed up, why do the Americans want the puppet government to help them out? Did they not foresee the mess and prepare for it or was it sprung up on them. Do the Americans believe that the Iraqis actually like the puppet government in the first place. And don't you think the "government" is in it just for the $$$$$$?

No one can help the US now, its all going down hill till GWB resigns in shame and is put up for war crimes trials with his mate Dick and the rest of the corrupt and slimy bunch.

The point is that having failed, the US Junta has spread the blame a bit further and the only people apart from the Iraqis that I feel very sorry for are those Americans or others who keep swallowing each new excuse that they dream them up in the White house!

Cant they think? Cant they say , "Hey, hang on, this was about WMD, right?" Its not about the Iraqi "Government" because THEY HAVEN'T GOT ONE. The one there now cannot be called a government. You cant have proper DEMOCRATIC ELECTIONS when your country is being overrun by foreign forces. Get that?

The top American General in Iraq is the President of Iraq whether you like it or not. Blame him.

of course there will be chaos for the duration of conflict time. Did you talk approximately that as quickly as Iraqi's decelerate and/or provide up scuffling with people, and different international locations troops who're there, coalition forces will start to tug out? We pulled out over 10,000 troops at one time (American).......and wager what?.....we had to start up sending them back as a results of fact Iraqi's began to attack in droves back. it is precisely why this conflict in Iraq will proceed for an prolonged time to come back. New Orleans is an entire distinctive tale. how are you able to even learn the two? i'm helpful you observed purely what your media needed you to work out. i've got been to Europe, considered the newscasts, and can inform you that they are purely normally getting one factor of a sizeable variety of themes while it includes U.S. appropriate activities. i'm helpful the comparable in all possibility occurs right here, and that i can't deny it. in case you're so sensible, why do no longer you flow over there and connect it? Is your united states stepping as much as help in any way? You look to have each and all the solutions....are you British? Judging via your pompus techniques-set, it truly sounds like it, nonetheless, i'd desire to be incorrect. It would desire to be extreme high quality to be so ideal. Have a extreme high quality day.

The final atrocity of the US and Bush's illegal war of choice in Iraq that was/is based upon a pack of filthy US (BUSH) lies that has resulted in the slaughter of over 400,000 innocent Iraqs ,is that Bush/US will of course need to blame somebody/anybody else for their crime against humanity and it may as well be the Iraqis themselves.

Many experts not only predicted the current civil war in Iraq before the US invasion but all their pleas fell on death ears.

The blaming of Iraqis for the Iraqi mess/fiasco is the ultimate example of the victim being further victimaized.

For the last 100 years the US (and the West) have deliberately chosen to support NOT DEMOCRACIES in the region but rather butchering right wing dictators from the Shah of Iran ,to the Saud family in Saudi Arabia to Saddam himself between 1979 and 1990.

It was the US that un-believably overthrew the democratically elected government of Iran in 1953 all because of oil and is one of the main reasons why the vast majority of Arab/Muslims in the Middle east JUSTIFIABLY hate the US and Americans.

Given that the US fully supported militarily, economically and politically this vile friggin despots ,the ARab/Muslims have simply never have been able to develope the art of politics and compromize that we in the western democracies took a very long time to develope.

The "politicians" in Iraq just have NO experience ,no history of ability at collectively dealing with mutual problems.

It is as if you took a 5 month old baby and told him/her to WALK and if they didn't all the consequences and blame for of not walking was the childs' .Like a five month old child who just has not the knowledge /ability to walk yet,the Iraqis prevented from learning how to "walk" by the US supported dictators ,cannot "walk" at this point.

The justified world wide hatred of the US tied to all aspects of the Iraqi atrocity is simply morally sound.

There's two parts to the equation.

Did the US cause a national disaster in Iraq that in turn caused the chaos? Yes.

Has the new Iraqi government done all it could in the past three years to help itself? No.

So, both are to blame.

it's an unavoidable fact that we are the reason they can run amok.. it is also an unavoidable fact that they are the only people capable of ending the violence in their nation.
