It's not a matter of perception. Not all Muslims are Arabs and not all Arabs are Muslims.

I'm with a man (nicest man in the world, by the way) who is from Lebanon. He comes from a Muslim family. Lebanon is an Arabian country, but it has people of many different religions.

Geneology, geography, language spoken and possibly political aspects would be what I'd use to determine if one were Arabian.

Being Muslim is a religious choice. There are a lot of Arabs who are also Muslims but Turkey, Indonesia, Nigeria, Senegal, Niger, Somalia and many others have a great number of people who are Muslim. None of which I would consider to be Arabs.

Since most Arabs live in countries that are Islamic states, I see them as Muslims.

I have always thought of Arabs as people who live in Arabia. Obviously, I have always been wrong. My education of late has been rather intense in showing me just how wrong I was.
So tell me, are all Arabs muslim? I know not all muslims are Arab. If they are, then perhaps I should percieve them as muslims, but I do not.

Islam is a religion, it is not a people. Contrary to popular belief, all Middle Easterners are not Muslim. So I guess I perceive them to be...human.

I've always perceived Arabians as Arabians because I see being Muslim as a religion, not a race.

As people. And, just like every other group, there are those that are good and those that aren't. People should be judged on the strength of who they are not their race, nationality or religion.
