My favorite actor????
HMMMM! I have a few, but I would have to say that one of my favorites is Don Cheadle.
He started as the concierge on the the spin-off show "The Golden Palace (with Rue McClanahan, Estelle Getty & Betty White f/Cheech Marin) and worked his way to being a very versatile and exciting actor, director and producer.
I know that many actors have honed their acting skills on television, but he's done it in such a way that he's not overwhelmed by his celebrity and is quite humble and caring.
He, along with co-stars George Clooney and Brad Pitt, has raised awareness to the atrocities in Dafur and he's used his fame in a positive light and not out being photographed at parties and galas a la Will Smith et al.
Plus he was great in Traffic and Crash (which he produced) not to mention Hotel Rwanda.

Gary Oldman. He is brilliantly talented. I think the British actors stand far above the American actors on talent, and I am an American. The problem, is, Hollywood cares more about looks and politics than talent.

Jack Nicholson - He is so charismatic and believable. He could play anything from a crazy person in an insane asylum to a prestigious man in the Marine Corps. He is the best.

Reese Witherspoon or Amanda Bynes....
Reese WItherspoon because she is phenomenal and she really brings out the character in a movie, she portrays it well.
And did you know that Laura is her real name? She took her mother's maiden name as her stage name for Hollywood. Cool, huh?
Amanda Bynes because she is incredibly funny and she is great at improvisation, which is really hard to do.

I don't know if you want male or female, but my favorite actress is Helen Mirren. It sounds cliched to say so, but she is so unbelievably... Believable.
Reese Witherspoon is a close second. She's the only thing that made Walk the Line bearable.
