These types of questions flex the mind and so are good for society.
With the exception of the OJ question, of course, since we all know the answer to that and it did society no good to know it.

All questions are unanswerable just as they had answers before they were asked. Yes these questions are good for society. The ancient greeks questioned many things that we don't even know about. There contribution to philosophy and questions greatly influenced peple all throughout history. Arguably..... you should seek the question you cannot ask......then and only then will you have learned something.
OJ did it. For sure, if he didn't do it personally then he was integrally involved somehow.

First, I am modifying your term from "unanswerable" to simply "unanswered". I do not believe there is anything that is truly unanswerable. Although some questions may never be answered, I believe they are capable of being answered.
And to answer your question, we will never "know" the answer to everything at any point in time, because as soon as we answer one questions, others will appear. Although this may seem frustrating to some people, I believe it is both positive and necessary for our survival. As we seek answers to one question, we often find answers to other (often more important) questions which help us better our lives.

I think it is wonderful to "examine" life. It gives a deeper perspective, a more richer and mature perspective when we do that or atleast make an attempt. But we should not get so sucked in, that we skip what we have on our hands now, that will never return - time. We also need to make the best use of this life and live it the best way we can. Analysis is a wonderful thing but I don't think it should overpower our life. Analysis is to stretch the mind, gain inspiration from, and live wisely.....but it shouldn't be the only thing going on.

Everything should not be answerable, except that OJ thing. If it were, what would we sit around and shoot the breeze over for hours at a time. Good Grief! We would have to go home and mow the lawn : D

It's a question worth pondering, on one level or another.
I don't worry much about, and refuse to give weight to what's 'good' for society.
But I suspect the preoccupation in modern life that people indulge in for such questions, does violence to almost anything they believe they want in life.
