Hmm...I love board games of all kinds, but I guess for a traditional game I like Scrabble but for a modern group game probably Cranium Pop 5 --- SOOOOO much fun with a large group. But there are lots of great board games: Taboo, Outburst, Scattegories, Sorry (great for families and kids), trivial pursuit, not to mention card games, Euchre being the best of course.

I love Settlers of Catan,
It's really fun because the board is different every time you play. The board is made up of hexagonal peices put together in a random order. You collect resources, build roads, build cities, and build an army. all these things earn you points; first one to 10 wins. It's kinda like RISK but only takes an hour.

I love the game Cranium. Its real fun and funny to play with your parents and sibs, but I still enjoy playin wit some of my buds. Oh and scattergories is the funniest game ever- always a late night favorite- when everybody's really tired! Hope this helps!

Monopoly, exept it takes to long. I like the video game versions that you can save your progress and play against computers. But I guess you really can't call it a board game anymore...
