To Ms Cutie: No disrespect intended, I'm just interested in opinions from both straight and gay people.

Absolutley, I'm gay, and almost 90% of my friends are straight, and they treat me absolutley no different now, then before I came out to them. We go to the mall, have sleepovers, go skinny dipping, talk about relationships, and never allow orientation to be a problem. I have only lost maybe two friends since I came out, and that was...only five years ago.
My friends and I even flirt with eachother, girl friends, and guy friends. It never means anything, we just like to get a laugh or two out of it. We all respect eachother. And that's really all it boils down too.

I have two best friends and they are both %100 hetro although one of them goes all crazy when I take my shirt off :P haha. So yeah I believe friendship can be real between hetro and gay. They know I'm gay and don't care. Its me they love :P haha.

And is there such a thing as "fake" friendship?
I don't think every straight person is bigoted and homophobic, if that's what you're getting at. And believe me, I know some very homophobic people.

Well... I'm gay... and ya know... I've had a struggle with this particular situation. I think it CAN be, yes. But it's pretty darned hard. It just depends on the people involved. I can think of one particular friend that I love very much whom (whom, right?) I know loves me as well. I joke with him about gay stuff -- call him cute and things like that -- but he understands that I love and respect him as a friend. I don't think of him like that. =-)

YES! absolutely and completely believe this w/all my heart. i'm gay and have many straight friends(almost all my friends r straight now that i think of it) INCLUDING a straight girl i fell in love with (and yes she knows i was in love w/her too)....yep, its possible and real, *sigh* i luv my friends they rock!
