Astrologers, Vs,,Astronomers,,?

why is it when some people r interested in astrology, all of a sudden,, a suppose Astronomer, has to put their 2 cents in as for instance,, how ridiculous, you astrologers r to compare us Astronomers, to you! some seem to even attact with words like were no where even close to astrologers, and some of us r offended when you compare us Astonomer's to your astrological views,,as we astronomers dont believe in you astrologers, as we r two seperate and not of the same! Well, I am sorry to hurt some of you astronomers, but the truth is your wrong!! reasons being,is that Astonomy is the branch of natural science that studies the celestial bodies, The word is a combination of astron, greek for "star" & nomos, greek for "law

It's a loaded question because I am an astrologer. Most people are not astrologers, so they wouldn't know what to ask. In that case word of mouth would be the best. I would ask a pointed question... like: "suppose a person lost his mother at age 4.... what might indicate that in his horoscope." If I get a reasonable answer I know the person at least has book knowledge. But I agree with Jung, the lack of ability to communicate clearly is SUCH a pain in the neck when dealing with astrologers, especially Indian ones. Also, the "love-em-and-leave-em" thing is the worst. A real astrologer has to take up a potentially life-long relationship with their client, not a one-time reading.

While, indeed, both are concerned with studying the stars, they do so for totally different reasons. An astronomer will study the stars to see what is physically out there - stuff that can have its existence proved. Astrology seeks to determine the fate of people born in at different times of the year by whichever sign they were born under. Nothing can be proved. I have to say that I don't believe it- how being born under a particular constellation is going to affect my temperament/life/future seems to me to be pie in the sky. I am also a committed Christian, so looking into the future is against my religion anyway.
