I wouldn't think so. The outbursts might be just a reaction to the medical condition that led to the need for the medication. Newly diagnosed diabetes patients often suffer from depression and emotional outbursts, for instance. Or the lower blood pressure might be interfering with the ability to have or sustain an erection, and the sexual frustration is showing up in an outburst over something totally unrelated. It is possible that the medication is the direct cause, though. What does the doctor say?

I have never heard of this as being a possible side effect. Ever. I take two bp meds, and there are some side effects listed, and the main ones are fatigue, dizziness, and minor sexual function impairment. I have experienced fatigue, but I take other meds and my heart condition is more responsible for this than anything else. No other side effects have I experienced, and I am only telling you so you know that, from my experience, I haven't had any anger control problems as a side effect. If you take any bp meds, you should have been provided a sheet with all the warnings, side effects, dosage times, etc. If you are truly curious, look up the name of your med, if available, on the Internet and search for side effects. I would say the odds are rather low that anger control would be an issue. Depression is even a low possibility as well. Never heard this before.

I have a friend on medication for high-blood pressure. The first one he took made him light-headed and he had to be all the time. The second one is much better. It is called Lisinopril. It doesn't have any side-effects for him. On either one, there were no psychological changes.

If BP is controlled, it will be a better control over anger. Different medicines have different side effects.

Check it out at webmd - or enter the brand name of your medication and read the list. Meds will act differently for some people so it could be a fluke reaction for you only.
