I been out of welding for about twenty years. Now I see those flux core migs that are 110volt 15amp at Lowes. Can they weld upside down?

problem is you can only weld stuff as thin as say-sheet metal. otherwise they are pretty much useless for any thing else.

Yes they can weld upside down, and down instead of up like you would do with a stick welder. I prefer the Argon gas instead of the flux core migs. You can weld very thin metal with the migs.

Sure they can weld upside down. I recently bought a Lincoln MIG welder that will do anything my old arc welder would do. It's definitely easier to use than the old rod burners.

Yes they can but they are messy. The up side is that most of them have a conversion kit {$55.00 for my Lincoln} to change them to gas and that is sooo much nicer to weld with. And the gas bottles can be purchased outright or rented from a weld supply shop.

There is no reason why they wouldn't be able to weld upside-down. Just make sure to wear plenty of safety gear, because flux core makes sparks fly EVERYWHERE.
