The probability of discovering another life form is pretty slim, its far more likely if we discover life that it would be in the form of single cell bacteria. More than likely that would inadvertently destroy most life since no life here on this planet had time to adapt to this strange form. If humanity does gain the opportunity to come into contact with higher more intelligent forms if not more intelligent, we would likely wage war over something or other. They would want to study us, and vice versa, we would keep a secret from them or do or say something to inadvertently start battle. Maybe I'm just watching to much of the sci-fi channel but thats what I think.

I think that aliens are, were, or in the future will be real. That is in essence the situation. When we find a place that is conducive to life, we will not know if life is just in the beginning stages there, is fairly well advanced, or was really well developed and wiped out thousands of years ago by some asteroid or terrible disease.

Look at the Earth. Scientists say it is 4.5 Billion Years Old. Man, however, is only some 8 or 9 thousand years old, and only the last several hundred years of that could be said to be remarkable in total knowledge and developments such as space travel, radio transmissions out into space, Probes of the Universe, harnessing the Atom, etc. So, when we find life somewhere else, will you expect it to be somewhere in the last 8000 years, or so, of mamal development? Or, will you accept the idea that the aliens might be really smart fish or birds?

Don't plan on anyone invading Earth unless they happen to have just thousands of really neat space ships ready to go.

Listen to this and mull it over. There are billions of other worlds out there. So chances are, somewhere in the vast universe, there is some other form of life. However, it is less likely they will ever reach us, because they are probably millions of lightyears away. And another form of life could also include an abiotic, single-celled organism. I'm not saying It's not possible, but We'll probably never hear from any aliens unless they are much more advanced than us. If that's the case, it's hard to say. You can't really predict what an Alien would do if it discovered Earth.

Maybe all the intelligent extraterrestrials in the Universe are just at the stage of discovering the uses of stone tools, a few are able to control fire. Maybe there are not any. Maybe those that are capable of space flight don't see any point. The chances that any of them are visiting or have visited this planet are so slight as to be negligible.

If you had crossed the light years, found a habitable planet with a large technologically advanced civilisation on it, would you mess about in isolated areas or would you head for population centres and announce yourself? Any beings capable of this would have been able to detect ancient Memphis, Troy, Babylon, Jerusalem, Rome, Bombay, Athens, Beijing and any of dozens of ancient and modern cities over the past 4000 years. Yet none have arrived in these places and said "G'day".

If they are advanced, then they are probably civilized, which means they are most likely friendly. But they are either extremely far away, or they are closer and simply don't want to reveal themselves to us. I wouldn't blame them for that. Earthlings are constantly at war and we seem to destroy everything we touch. Why would advanced aliens welcome malevolence into their world? But if they are advanced, they would understand that Earth is still barbaric, so they are probably not criticizing the Earth too much (but they still don't want us around).

Lol. via the time we make first touch, Judgment day could have come and long gone. the 2d coming will in all possibility take place till now an alien invasion! yet while it did take place, then i assume we would stay to tell the tale as a results of fact the human race has to stay to tell the tale till the activities of the e book of Revelation happen.

Chances are that if they came to earth, it would be for the same reasons that we would send probes to their planet: for scientific discovery. It wouldn't make sense for them to invade.

Simply by the fact that aliens would be able to reach our planet, it is a safe assumption that they are more technologically advanced than us. We had damm well better hope they're benevolent!!

The universe is ever expanding and it's size is incomprehensible. I'm pretty sure there are more interesting planets to visit than this one.
