Once i give scyther the metal coat, what do i do to evovle it? WHere should it be?

If you trade the Scyther holding a metal coat, it'll evolve into a Scizor. The person you traded it to will have the Pokemon. If you want it back, you'll have to trade back for it.

you trade your scyther to somebody else an they trade it back to you it will evolve when its traded the first time
but if you want my advice i think you should use your metal coat on onix to get a steelix it evolves the sameway as scyther
