... to Pelosi when it passes?

I'm self-employed. Nancy will give us a big gift if neither my spouse or I have to pay for this free insurance.

It won't be as huge of a tax burden as people will have you believe; in fact it will be the first thing the Federal government has done for the everyday American. Once Congress fixes Bush's crappy tax-cut for big business, things will start improving. In a worst-case scenario, your taxes would even out with what you're paying now for insurance.

But Bush probably won't sign it anyway...'cause its not in his bass-ackward philosophy. (Afterall, it wouldn't be helping him or the healthcare lobbyists, would it?)

Dumb! You and everyone else are going to contribute. The difference is, you're going to contribute less than you do now with better coverage. And, you can stop with the HEALTH CARE drivel. The subject is HEALTH INSURANCE....a totally different thing. You'll still pay co-pays and deductables...you'll still see the same doctors. The difference is, they'll actually get paid on time and in full. You won't get canceled and there won't be any of this 'pre-existing' condition nonsense. Everyone pays...everyone is covered. Just like everyone pays for police and fire protection and everyone has access to that service as needed. It's easy to repeat right wing radio BS.....It's a little more difficult to see the difference between these private health insurance mafia pimps and reality!

Hi Some people never learn do you? all politicians are the same, they don't run the country, the bank's do, what they give you in one hand, they take away by some other means, each government has only so much money to spend each term of office and when they get their figures wrong (as most of them do) they have to replace it by putting up taxes, 'the bank's don't run the country' I hear you say... oh no..£29 billion found overnight to prop up Northern Rock and not a penny to help the Rover Car company here in England, when it came to helping Rover stay British the politicians were saying..'we can't waste "Taxpayers money" just like that' but they can find £29 billion to prop up the "old boys club", wake up pal or you're going to end up like us. RH is a complete friggin' idiot. I think we should pull an 'Atlas Shrugged' and all quit our jobs. Lord knows all of the people who used to work for insurance companies aren't going to have jobs. Why should the rest of us? I love this practice of the government trying to put companies out of business. I guess they haven't quite succeeded with the tobacco companies yet, so now we'll try to take out insurance companies by letting the government take it over. RH wants us to go ahead and put all loan companies out of business, which would take out banks, so we aren't going to have anywhere to put our money anyway. PROFIT is apparently a cuss word, so we're better off not making money. Why work?

If PROFIT is taken out of private insurers and health care and it comes from the government, then the government can stop giving subsidies also known as "Corporate Welfare" to the Insurance industry and SHOULD stop paying corporate welfare to ALL companies who receive it. Why is Welfare for corporations okay when they make millions if not billions, but welfare for poor people who need it isn't? Why DOESN'T Corporate Welfare expire, but welfare for the poor who really need it, does expire? In 2006 alone, the US government gave 92 BILLION dollars of US taxpayers money to Huge Corporations! WHY are WE supporthing THEM? and don't give me that "they create jobs" crap 'cause they don't. If a business is a failure it should FAIL. If YOU started a business and it failed the government wouldn't bail you out, would they? NO, they wouldn't. END CORPORATE WELFARE NOW!!! and Take the Profit out of the Insurance, Health Care and Student Loan businesses!! Questions? just ask...and VOTE DEMOCRAT!

If the government nationalized health care, you would pay through the nose with higher taxes to cover healthcare, the bureaucracy to run the program, the waste - fraud - abuse that follows all federal government where bureaucrats do nothing but hand out money.

Just because people will have free health care does not mean they will quit their jobs. People still have bills, mortgages, car payments, credit card debt and other things to pay for.

Send a thank you note to each hard working American who will be funding it. This will be the decline of modern medicine.
