I want to know because when I go to college I want to paint my dorm or my side of the dorm pink and would like to know if I can.

Most colleges and universities don't allow it because it costs a lot to hire maintenance people to come and paint over it. Some schools have approved colors listed in their housing department that you can paint your room, check with your department of residential life. However it's really more trouble than it's worth. You'll be surprised how little time you actually spend in your dorm room. Also, dorm rooms are very poorly ventilated, so it takes time for the paint to dry and the smell to clear out. I'd look into a stick on wall mural. Try Urban Outfitters, they've got some cute ones.

I went to two colleges and either you could paint. I do not believe any of my friends were allowed to either. One day when you buy a house after you have a great job with your college degree, you can paint any color you want!

Unfortuonately you cannot paint your dorm room at college. All you can do is decorate with fabric, posters, and other designs. I know i sucks but it is just like apartment rules.

It depends on the school, but usually no. If they do let you do it, you will have to paint it back to white at the end of the year.

No they probably wont let you.
It depends on the college but Ive never heard of a college letting students do that.
You might want to consider an off campus apartment and even then you probably still cant.

Hahaha! I hope your roommate likes pink. You probably can't do it. Its also not worth all of the effort.

Some colleges let you do it, some don't. You'll have to ask your RA.

It's far easier to ask for forgiveness than permission. Paint it, and if anyone notices or says you can't do that afterward, say, "Sorry, I didn't know".
