The Agent has to see something of interest on your resume. If you don't have lead roles, or, perfomed at well-respected theaters, why would the Agent want to meet you. You don't have anything to make him call you for an interview.

Agents want to see very talented, very interesting actors.
If you are a beginner, wait a few years before you try to get an agent.

If you want build a good resume, you must act in productions so Talent Agents and Casting Directors can see you perform on stage. They go to the theater to discover new talent.

If you are not performing on stage, an agent or casting director can not see your performance.

Get an ENTRY level job of some sort, something you can pick up in the classifieds, then work there for AT LEAST a YEAR and then you have that on your resume.. ALSO if you are able to do any NON-PROFIT work that would be nice, you should not want to do NON-profit work just for the RESUME though... you should want to do it because it is the right thing you want to be doing on that level... these things may still not help but they are HOT ITEMS that employers may make note to... if you are coming out of college or TRADE SCHOOL and you have the SKILLS required for the JOB and there is a demand you may not need any JOB EXPERIENCE... I mean, if you can write a nice COVER LETTER to EXPLAIN yoursefl and your skills and what you are "in for"(your life goal plans) well, then that may be the ticket....

A resume is a listing of your experience on stage or film. If you don't have any yet, you don't need a resume. Best way to get some experience is through school and community theater productions.
Don't lie and make up a resume, you will only get caught and agent/ casting agents DO talk to each other.

The only thing harder to get into than acting, is Keira Knightley's pants.
I say go for Keira Knightley's pants. Acting is for pansies.
