Well I would do research first to see which one will better fit your needs. If you are looking into video/picture editing Mac far surpases everything. But if you are just looking for an easy to use word processing Internet machine I would go with a Dell. Also if you are more use to operating with Microsoft windows go with a dell you would be lost with a Mac.

you know it's really what you want it for.
i have a mac at home and i love it. i use it for editing video and music. but, at work, we have dells. i don't like them as much because i am used to macs, but they're good for office stuff.
dells are much cheaper though!

macs are good b/c they don't get viruses. But if you're good at doing matinence on your computer, get the dell.

I use both and the mac is not that hard to learn. Its easy.

If you are into music/pictures. don't think twice and go w/ a mac.

It all depends on what you need and can afford. Go out to the stores, ask a lot of questions, and try them out.

good luck!
