I just know of a few places in my town that does not have changing stations. So I avoid them. You never know when the baby "has to go". Then I'm stuck with a poopy diaper, a mad baby, and no place to change him. Yes the car may work but I have two carseats in the back and my son is a 23lb 9 month old. Kinda akward!!

Nope, I change them before I leave and if I am desperate I change them in the car. I have had to do it in a stall a few times where I had them lay on my legs while I sit on the seat. (Baseball stadium didn't have any changing station)

Probably. It's just more convenient and easier to handle with a changing table. I feel your pain, as my son was a big baby too. In fact, he was also 23 lbs. at his 9 month check-up! So, yeah, if I go to a place that doesn't have a changing table, or at least a counter by the sink I can use, I try to avoid it.

PS - I can't believe people are saying to change him at the table or in the booth! Do you people not know how *unsanitary* that is?! There's food around! Ewww!

In certain circumstances it's a pain. We were on vacation and we stopped off the main highway to a wendy's and I wanted to change the kids before we got on the road and there was no changing station.. Which was annoying it's not like we were off the beaten path... We just changed them in the car.... As for the post about changing a baby on the table, that's disgusting.. People eat there.. Maybe the booth seats, but the table.. !! That's gross... I have my limits.. !

Yes it does. Most fast food restaurants have them, so I was surprised when our Wendy's doesn't have one in their bathroom. Needless to say, I try to avoid eating there. Other up-scale restaurants should have them. If there isn't one, I have a mat that I can lay out and change on the floor (hard on the knees) or change it in the car. But just personally, I make a note of it and try not to eat there again.

Absolutely! In Arizona its too hot to change them in the car most of the time.
Of course when we went to the new Bass Pro Shop here, I ended up pretty ticked. Upstairs they only had the individual bathrooms, and the line was awful, so I put the stroller back all the way down, tossed my changing pad on there, and changed her in the hall! I wasnt the only one, either.
I really hate it when they put a changing table in right next to the door too!

Nope, stroller works fine. I even changed my daughter on my lap a few times.

Once we were at a fair and I was wearing my daughter in a sling. They only had port-a-potties... so I sat on a bench put the changing pad on my lap and had my sister handing me wipes and the diaper. The old lady sitting on the other side of the bench got up and left, but hey - if her diaper was poopy she'd want it changed too :)

Your life isn't over until an almost 11 year old girl starts raiding your closet for your old 'skinny' clothes, while the 3 year old who is watching says "Wow Momma outgrowed her clothes. She's a big girl now." I drove around for hours after that looking for a tree limb sturdy enough to hang myself from. I decided none could be trusted.

No, I've perfected changing dirty and wet diapers while my son was standing up. It makes it a lot easier...it takes some practice, but worth it for times when there isn't a changing station.

No, I've changed my children in the car, in their strollers (the one's that recline). Any flat surface will work - just bring one or two of their little blankets so you can lay them down on it in case of a changing. Try changing them prior to going into the restaurant too if possible.

Yes - definently. But how would you know that unless you've been there before??? I would definently make a mental note - to either bring a changing pad with me or not to go there. That would be a rare occasion this day to find a restaurant without one.
