No, I get angry when people:
A. Shove their religion down my throat.
B. Tell me I'm going to hell for not believing in 'their' god (one of tens of thousands of supposed gods)
C. Say "Hate the sin, not the sinner" because it's ridiculous and arrogant
D. Refuse the absolute civil rights of others
E. Quote scripture rather than answering a "Please don't quote scripture" question with their own thoughts.
F. Insist that the New Testament had been prophesied and fail to realize that it was written to seem prophetic, based on the books that came before it.
G. Say that atheism is a 'religion' because we have 'faith' there is no god. Absolutely inane. Atheism is simply a lack of belief in deities. End of story. To atheists it's like saying it's a religion NOT to believe in the Tooth Fairy.
It is not God that is on the mind of atheists, believe me. That we atheists get worked up has everything to do with the horrors and atrocities committed in this world in the name of religion every day. We see our rights removed, we see our children in a country where the religious believe they can become scientific through the Bible; we see our President murdering innocent civilians. We hear that the religious want to bring religion 'back into our schools', something that would make George Washington, Ben Franklin and Thomas Jefferson roll in their graves. If we brought religion back into our schools it would only be fair that EVERYONE's religion be studied. If schools can give an elective comparative religion course, wonderful. To teach only one concept would be blackmail.
I wouldn't like to believe in a loving god at all. I'd like to believe in a loving humanity - a place where we can all empathize with and be kind to one another for the amazing sense of goodness that comes of doing so.That's all. The word "god" existed long before the Abrahamic one came along. It was a man-made concept.
I am more than happy to let you have your own beliefs and I expect the same respect in turn. I will always believe that those who can make you believe in absurdities can make you commit atrocities. If you are charitable, nonjudgmental and kind, then I appreciate you and don't care much what your religion is or isn't. If you give best answer to someone who agrees with you although this question is obviously something only an agnostic or atheist can answer, then you're only posing it to fulfill your own prejudice and it was never really a question at all.

It goes both ways. The difference is one side is supposed to be about love and support. Jesus was a peaceful man, he helped people - and many atheists, agnostics, and other religions live in a country filled with God - God fearing people, Bible-thumping people - and the like and it gets old for them.
Now I don't mean you personally, but it seems many Christians are more worried about preaching and judging than minding the tenants of their own book and I do feel that they (atheists) sometimes go out of their way to make their point heard. But this is a nation where you are bombarded with religion in general and it's no wonder they get snappy.

Many atheists/agnostics probable do instruct anger at a deity. yet not me and that i doubt there are atheist who hate something they no believe in. That'd be like asserting we hate santa because of the fact we declare he would not exist. specifically the hatred is against faith itself (church homes, contributors, and legislations that inhibits the liberty of others). God would not worry me because of the fact i don't understand if he exists or not so i don't care. i'm detached and have neither shown hatred or admire for something that is imaginary.

I think it has more to do with the force feeding of religion to people who do not solicit this information. Why should I listen to someone about the wisdom of their religion if I don't know them or their values? Plus the Catholic church has really been a devastating force to all religions because of impropriety and corruption that has been made public like it never has before. Sure they sold bits of chicken bone as saint's fingers and assured you be in heaven if you donated enough to the church, but the peasants way back when didn't have the 6 o'clock news stories about kiddy diddling preists to warn them off....

i' m not the ranting type of person and i'm not an atheist. i just believe that the chrisrian religion is full af flaws and doesnt lead to any soert of aundersatnding of the world. i personnally concider it naive and stupid. so if you're talking generally about the existenceof god, yes i do believe there is a supreme being whose feautures the human maind cannot grasp. buta if by god you mena the christian god, well i cannot accept the existence of such a narrowminded, vindicative god.and people believing in him like he's something to admire, or whose nature they can actually understand just because they believe the scripts and know them by heart, well, that makes me angry, like evry stupid thing that comes across my way.

Just like SOME christians, there are SOME atheists/agnostics who think everyone who doesn't see the world the same as them is an idiot. I'm agnostic, but im still spiritual and I believe in letting others believe whatever they want to. The only time I get angry is when someone else tries to push their views on me, or when someone tells me I'm evil for not believing in the christian god. Everyone(christians and atheists alike) needs to learn to live and let live.

I'm not angry. And I guess I'm not reading the questions that do get lots of angry atheist responses.
Most of the ones I know are also pretty laid-back.
Would you judge Christians by the ones you see on here? If I did that, I'd have to run screaming whenever I saw a person wearing a cross.

First of all let me tell you that I'm not at all angry at anybody or anything. If there's any ranting going on, I'm not sure it only the non-believers who are doing the ranting.
I, for one am not loving for a loving "god". To me all supernaturals do not exist. That includes gods and angels.
I do not look for proof of any supernaturals because there are no such things.

It doesn't annoy me that god doesn't exist and I don't rant about it. I don't see other atheists ranting about it.
I get angry when buffoons like you make unsupported statements about atheists, evolution, or imply that ACTUALLY, what we want, is to believe in god. We don't.
And if we did, we wouldn't choose yours. Anything further from a loving god is hard to imagine. Your own book portrays him as a hypersensitive sociopath.

Hmmm... You must be confusing me with someone else.
You see, I don't get angry about Christians trying to get their nonsense taught in public schools... I did something about it. I got on the board.
