We are going to Quebec but our inspection sticker on our car for Maine runs out the before we are going will they give us a problem at the border in(NY) because we cant get in anywhere.

If you don't have time to get the new sticker before you go, at least have the inspections and paperwork ready and in your glove compartment to show you are getting it as soon as you return. That should help you avoid quite a bit of hassle. Most states have it where you can renew on-line, if you have a minute call your local DMV and ask about this method as well.

I don't think you have anything to worry about. Other states don't enforce another states vehicle code, only their own codes.
