Old wives tales about pregnancy..?

First, I know the surest way to find out if you are pregnant is to take a home pregnancy test...BUT...

I am wondering if there are any old wives tales about knowing if you are pregnant? After all home pregnancy tests were only invented in 1977, before then women must have had little homemade tests and susperstitions to try and determine if they were pregnant or not!

2. My next-door-neighbor told me she can tell a lady is pregnant because the mother's lips get "fuller"

I'm sure that as soon as a woman missed a period in the old days, pregnancy was suspected. Morning sickness and sensitivity to smells were also very early signs.

I don't know if this will work for finding out if your pregnant. But it might if you are having a boy. My lawyer swears the "DRANO" test will tell you the sex of your baby.

You take half a cup of drano and pee into a cup then poor the pee into the drano. If there is a reaction you are having a boy. If there is no reaction you are having a girl

So it might work to find out if you are pregnant (if your having a boy)

Actually believe it or not I did it and my sister did too(we are 2 weeks apart) and we both found out this week we are having boys. The "Drano" test worked lol

My grandmother would say to wait til the full moon and you feel a little something like flutters then your pregnate. never worked for me though.I could never wait I'd always start barffing before the full moon.
