Remember how OJ tried on those gloves at his trial (I assume they were the gloves the killer used) and they didn't fit which I guess played some sort of role in the not guilty verdict. I was just thinking why couldn't they just take the fingerprints from the inside of the glove and try to find a match. That may be a stupid question, but I have no idea how fingerprinting works and what materials can or cannot be tested.

Fingerprints cannot be taken from soft material like the inside lining of a glove. Also the gloves had been out in the rain and shrunk so they wouldn't be able to fit anyway. One O J had handled them his DNA from sweat or hair would have been on them. The police were very inept in this case and the production of the gloves was a joke. Anyone could see they wouldn't fit. Just try leaving a leather glove out in the rain for a week then let it dry to see the effect. Also even if the gloves did yield fingerprints it's only circumstantial since O J could have handled them at anytime before the murders. The presence of prints is only of any use when found on an object that the accused has handled but not supposed to have done like a murder weapon or on a surface like glass to prove he has been somewhere he's not supposed to have been.

Sometimes fingerprinting can be done inside of gloves but in the OJ case the evidence was degraded. The LA Lab messed up with a lot of the evidence in that case. A couple years later when the lab was investigated, many cases/verdicts were overturned.

I think that they had tired that and it had failed to give any use able prints. If I understand this right natural oils and protein is what form a print so the glove beening rough leather on the inside would make it harder to get anything form.

They should have just used a new pair of the same model/size glove to see if it would fit. Not a shrunk, used, pair. IDIOTS!!

The gloves were stiff from dried blood.

He had arthritis, and his palms have been swollen. Plus, it became a great performing interest. "We" weren't all duped in this; the jury became. study Bugliosi's great "Outrage" to verify how the prosecution thoroughly bungled this occasion.
