That depends a lot on what you mean by 'life partner'. I am alive. So are lot of other things. And unless I'm grossly mistaken, we're all more or less playing the same game. Does that make us partners or enemies?

I don't think that I would. As I don't think that I would choose someone much more mentally superior to me. It is not a bias. It is that after you deal with the physical part of marriage, there is communication that is important. And people need to feel somwhat equal to eliminate the superior/inferior relationship. I want an equal partner.

A big discrepency in that department is tough to overcome. I've tried it before. You end up struggling constantly to convey your thoughts and get what seem to be simple concepts across. It feels like being in a country where they don't speak your language. So that idea of wanting a hot, but slightly dense girl is not all it's cracked up to be. I love being with a woman whose intelligence is on my level and who's thought readily meld with mine - often without so much as a word being said. And by the way.... I didn't compromise in the looks department one bit by falling for you (-;

Those plants that grow tallest are the ones surrounded by competition (for light, water, soil, etc.). In the same way, we as people intellectually grow greater by the company we keep.
If the other person we are with is too inferior, they gain more intellectually from our presence, but we do not gain from theirs; thus, we would need to be gaining on other grounds (physical, spiritual, etc.) from the other person. So, the point becomes to seek balance, but not necessarily balance only on one attribute.

I think so , if she has a nice personality it doesnt matter. I mean my wife chose me and she's a double graduate in law and economics and has even been to a Swiss finishing school.
So im a complete lout compared to her lol!
Although (This is true) I have a guy who works for me who is an Oxford grad and has a girlfriend who is Very beautiful but clinically retarded and he wants babies...Guess it takes all sorts I mean (no light in the piazza at all)

Interesting question there A!!!
It all depends, if we can hit it off good and she's funny and like what I like to do, then it would be ok. However, if she thinks she's smart but really isn't, that's a negative. Same with if she's really really an airhead, then I would pass her up.

My initial reaction was running along the lines of "That wouldn't be much of a partnership, being so unequal."
Then I realized that it worked for my wife.

All I know is that,.. what I am, she is not,... and what she is,... I am not,..therefore we complete each other and together we make a whole person,.. brains arent everything,.. you could easily lose them tomorrow,..as well as physical,.. etc etc finding that person that completes us and us to them,.. should be the criteria

Oh sure!
If his heart was pure, he was kind, and loved me.
Now don't get me wrong, Honey, I probably wouldn't go for a blithering idiot, but just being the "smart one" isn't all bad.
haha
