Ok I stopped taking the in April, the reasoning behind it was because I was having a period for two months straight. My Gynie put me on estrogen pills and took me off the depo when my next shot was due. I switched to the pill but haven't taken any. Im not pregnant but I haven't had a period sence April. Also I would really like to concieve soon, though I took the Depo for about a year, and I know that it takes 6 to 18 months to regain furtility, though if anyone has any advice on how to boost firtility would also be nice. My biggest concern right now though is if I am broken, I dont know if I will be able to have children, I dont know if that darn shot made me barren. If someone can give me any answers or any advice I would be much appreciative.

Gotta love depo!

UGH, I wish I was never on it. I was on it for four years, and I'm paranoid that I won't be able to have children.

Some women on the shot had to see a fertility specialist.

Hopefully the pills your gynie gave you will help counteract the negative affects the depo had on you.

Well I was on the shot for three years and then stopped when I got married because my doctor told me it can take up to two years for women to have a baby after being on the shot. Well after 5 months of no period (and off of the shot) I started to wonder what was wrong with me. I took a pregnancy test and tested positive and I now have a beautiful three year old. Yes the shot can cause you to be off for a while, but it didn't cause any problems for me. The effects of it wore off right away and I got pregnant sooner than I had planned. So relax, I doubt you are barren - but it may take a while to get back to normal. Just keep taking a pregnancy test - because you can get pregnant before having your first period.
