how good do you have to be to say you can play the guitar?

Some songs require that you play only one chord. Almost anyone can play the guitar, but not a lot of us can play it extremely well. I'm closer to "extremely well" than "not at all", but I know there's always room for improvement. You can say that you play the guitar if you can play a song in its entirety, and that usually is a minimum of 3 chords, IMHO. And a lot of people do seem to want to listen to me, so I feel lucky in that regard. Of course, I've been playing for years so I should be at least half-way decent by now, right? ;)

You need to be able to take request on songs and/or be able to turn a song on and pick it up and play right along
