bmw e36 328i conertible.i renovated the roof fabric with a black dye and a waterproof sealer .?

the results were incredible.however the process seems to have stiffened the mohaire fabric,with the result that when i try to lower the hood,sometimes the mechanism stops,probably due to some type of safety system finding resistence.any advice/help please

Check and make sure none of the sealer got in any of the pivot points in the roof frame. spray some PB Blaster on the joints...it will help remove the excess sealer and also lubricate the joints.
