First off, there's the whole cheerleader aspect, and he's not on thier "team". Secondly, they are afraid that he might eventually hurt thier pocketbooks. But mainly, it's reason #1. As a small example off the top of my head: notice how right-wingers like to criticize/vilify Bill Clinton on the NAFTA, although NAFTA was developed, proposed and promoted mainly by right-wingers. Why? Because Bill Clinton is not on thier "team".

1. Algore is not doing something for the country.
2. The right wing is not the side that always does the hating.
3. There is nothing anyone on the planet can do if there is
a Global Warming as it can change to Global Cooling
anytime - even next year.
4. Algore is doing harm because his ideas is gonna cost
the government (your taxes) tons and tons of money.
5. We already have the Environmental Protection Agency
that looks after the environment (ground and air), so
we don't need one person (Algore) trying to run the
atmosphere and climate changes.
6. He's just rediculous......maybe he could be Hillary's
Veep. p.s. did you know HIllary only tried 5 cases during
her "law career"? I smell something fishy here.

Running for office has nothing to do with it. He's a public figure making well-publicized statements and everyone has the right to respond.

The 'attacks' are because given the very nature of the issue, he and his celebrity buddies are some of the biggest hypocrites on the planet.

Try this question on for size, "Why do left-wing extremists attack Fred Thompson if he isn't even running for president?"

Why do liberal media stations like CrapNN keep telling people that he might run? Thats not news unless he decides he is going to run so why "report" it like he is going to? BTW how much damage to the enviroment did Al Gores Global concert Live Earth do?

Carbon credits, what a joke! Let me sell you my fresh air so you can continue to pollute, thats a "great" idea. Guess who will be dipping their hands into the carbon credits cookie jar? Yep, Algore. I guess we will just have to put it in a "lockbox".

I don't know, probably the same reason left wing extremist attack Ann Coulter, Sean Hannity, and Bill O'Reilly.

Help our country, I thought he was about Global Warming. I think he has his sights a little higher than "our" country.

Because he is a fraudulent, lying little twit, much like yourself. Now - if you'll excuse me, - I have to fly off to my Global Warming seminar fear-speech, in my .000025 mpg private jet, and then hurry home to one of my 5 fully air conditioned mansions with heated pools, because I am so worried about the environment and all.

So, anyone who dares disagree with His Demented Majesty is a "right wing extremist?"

Just because someone disagrees with him and his schlock pseudoscience does not mean they "hate" him.

And NO ONE is more hateful than the fringe elements of the left.

They have to protect their point of view, and the idea that environmental issues are not important. If they fail to do this people from the left will have an easier time swaying voters with environmental election promises. If they make Gore and all those global warming people look crazy, it's not so easy to decide what issues are important when it comes time to voting.

This is my take on his "trying to help the country". I don't want someone preaching to me about the environment when he chooses to travel on jets and motorcades. It's hypocrisy at it's finest.

Bush may be a fear monger with regards to terrorism, but Al gore is a fear monger with regards to global warming. The earth has warmed and cooled throughout it's history. This is not even the hottest it has ever been.
