my period is about 6 days late and i have recently been experincing these cramps. some have been mild (5 days ago) but yesterday and today my cramps are getting pretty painful. I normally get strong cramps when i get my period but i want to know why my period hasen't came yet. i have been exercising not too long ago (starting the 20th of june) everyday for an hour and been under a lot of stress. could these cramps be due to my period coming or what? and is there any foods or vitamins etc that could make it come faster i heard iron works. any suggestions and are these cramps normal?

you could be pregnant and the cramping you feel could be because of the stretching of your uterus. stress and change of diet could be what's holding up your period if you are not. take a test and if you're not, then find a way to destress and go back to your regular diet.

Have you had unprotected sex in the last month? With my first pregnancy I had the most terrible cramps, and just though my period was late as well. If your period is already late you can of course take a quick pregnancy test just to make sure.
However, stress and exercise could possibly cause cramps. Excessive stress can make your period come late, or in some cases not at all! Moderate exercise shouldn't be a problem unless you are overexerting yourself. I would more contribute it to the stress.
I am also one who gets very strong menstrual cramps, but everyone is different. If they become too bad then I would see your doctor to check for things like ovarian cysts. Whenever my period is late I get worse cramps, and sometimes a heavier perdiod. I think this is normal, and my doctor has never shown concern.

You can't make your period come faster. The days between ovulation and your period is called your luteal phase. Your luteal phase length remains the same. Most are between 12-16 days. Mine for instance is 13 days. If you ovulate late in a cycle, then you period appears to be late. Ovulation can be thrown off by a variety if things, such as stress.
