We wouldn't have lost the good will of nearly everyone on Earth.
Not invading Iraq alone wouldn't have done this, but if we had also reached out to those who would cooperate with us to find Bin Laden, we would have, and he would have stood trial and now be incarcerated, I would imagine, for life.
Assuming, not only that we hadn't gone into Iraq, but that we also had not implemented torture (in other words, hadn't done EVERY POSSIBLE WRONG THING).
There would be many fewer terrorists in the world.
Several terrorist attacks, such as the London, Madrid, and Bali bombings wouldn't have happened.
I don't know how much we've spent there thus far, but that money wouldn't have been flushed down the toilet; we wouldn't be in the crushing debt we're now in.
Over 3,000 of our people wouldn't be dead.
Tens of thousands more wouldn't have been maimed, and more than that damaged psychologically.
The children back home wouldn't have grown up without their soldier parents.
We'd have all the emergency equipment that's over there over here, where we'll be needing it.
We wouldn't have the blood of nearly 1 million people on our hands.
We wouldn't be the cause of Iraq becoming a theocracy where women can't work, or even leave home without being veiled head-to-toe and accompanied by male relatives.
Or the cause of Iraqi children missing their educations because their parents are afraid of sending them to school.
Or the cause of millions of Iraqi homeless.
(Uh, it's not ALL about US, you know.)
We would not be in greater danger than ever of being attacked.
Every decent human being in the world wouldn't hate us.
Just to name a few items off the top of my head.

Where we think we might be is irrelevant. All evidence has shown Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. In my opinion this was a Bush vendetta. What a waste of human lives, American and the poor Iraqi people. Now we are in a catch 22. Damned if we leave damned if we stay. Bushes inability to lead created the insurgent problem and nothing we do will make it go away. We are just wasting some of Americas finest peoples lives.

the U. S. first focused Afghanistan in late 2001. It replaced into for the duration of February and March 2003 that the Bush administration appropriate Iraq with Al Qaeda (and as such 9/11) and desperate to flow after Saddam. It replaced into purely later that this link replaced into shown spurious and the government touted 'regime replace' as their purpose.

To answer that question, we'd have to consider /why/. If we'd attacked Iran, or gone into Pakistan after Al Qaeda, instead, things might be pretty similar. If we'd concentrated on Afghanistan, we might just be looking at a similar mess in as those foreign fighters attracted to Iraq in this reality went there, instead. If we'd just turned timmid and given up offensive actions in general, we might, indeed, have suffered another attack at home.
Of course, there's no telling what Saddam might have done in the intervening years. He might have begun cooperating with the UN, he might have started up weapons programs again, he might have offered Al Qaeda a safe haven when Afghanistan was pacified, he might have dropped dead of a heart attack, and his country disolved into civil war...

Well we would have either caught Bin Laden or kept him running because our forces wouldn't be tied up elsewhere. Al Quaeda and the Taliban would be severely weakened if not destroyed. Our european allies would be working in closer cooperation with us giving us access to important intelligence on other terror groups and vice versa. And we wouldn't be despised by the rest of the world.

We have more than 3500 young men and women still "living" in the U.S. It's possible if we had focused our troops on Osama, we may have had a chance for a measure of peace in this world. I think our going into Iraq was one of the worst decision ever made for our country!

We would likely have nearly wiped out Al Qaeda and would have had far fewer problems in the Middle East. Our reputation would still be intact. Iran would not be positioning itself to be the new leader of the Middle East. There would be far fewer terrorists.

maybe THEN we would have concentrated on the real terrorists and Al Queda won't be "as strong as they were on 9-11"
3600+ of America's bravest wouldn't have DIED IN VAIN
Saddam would still be in power 100,000+ innocent Iraqi citizens wouldn't have been killed (Sunni's and Shiites would still be under his thumb)
The Enemy AlQueda wouldn't have be emboldened and had such a great recruiting season

Working with our allies toward achieving peace diplomatically. Who would've guessed that Bush would have such trouble with diiplomacy? The Bush version: "You're either with us, or against us." Incredible!
