Why can't we just punish crimes for what they are instead of giving everything labels?

ALL crimes start with the premise of HATE...
I hate the fact I have no money so I'll rob someone who does
I hate that my friend no longer likes me so I'll kill him
I hate America so I'll bomb it...
I agree with you. A CRIME is a crime and we should have harsher punishments to deter them!

Terrorism is an act of war, not a crime. Do you think terrorist have the right to "Due Process" like an American citizen?

Two commercial jets fully loaded with gasoline slammed into the World Trade Center and killed thousands. Evil like that is FAR BEYOND a hate crime.

oh wow, and that means ....terrorists get a bigger sentence no matter what their job was in collaboration with the crime.
