Libs hammered Bush on missing guard duty and his whereabouts and no doubts there was something there but you give John Kerry, Clinton and other libs who avoided the draft a free pass?

Kerry served in Vietnam.
Clinton was "hammered" extensively because of the way he maneuvered himself out of the draft. Like many young men who saw the Vietnam was as immoral, he avoided it, as many others did.
Bush, on the other hand, used his father's money, power and influence to basically go AWOL from the guard unit (without reproach or punishment) because it was more important for him to work on a friend's election campaign. Then, when Bush became Commander-In-Chief he had no compunction about sending others into harms' way - something he refused to do himself.

If you think Clinton got a "free pass" on the draft issue, then you completely missed the 1992 election. He took tremendous heat during that campaign for his draft maneuvers. As to Kerry, I'm not sure what you are talking about - he served in Vietnam, so there was no draft issue regarding him.

John Kerry volunteered to serve in Vietnam, and was awarded a Silver Star and a Purple Heart. Bush hid out in the Texas Air Guard after being bumped to the top of a waiting list that had 4000 names on it. Dick Cheney took six deferments on the draft because in his own words "he had other priorities". Clinton didn't get a pass on taking a deferment to pursue a Rhodes scholarship. Neo-Cons are still trying to dredge that chestnut up 7 years after he has been out of office.

He did not get a free pass. Not sure what you're talking about. I am NO Clinton fan, but you should probably get your facts straight. He was hammered big time.

John Kerry, another who I by NO means support (even less than Clinton), is a veteran of the Vietnam war. I should add though around my neck of the woods, which happens to be near his home, some other Vietnam vets refer to him as "Hanoi John".

Look stuff up.

free pass? No. And that was over 15 years ago. Bush deserves to get hammared because during the 2004 election they were trying to make Kerry look bad when it comes to service when he actually went to Vietnam.

I'm fairly liberal in my thoughts. And I didn't give Clinton a free pass on the draft issue. Hell, I didn't even vote for him. Do you ever have anything other than a partisan political thought?

hmmm...you mean its a double standard?

Sort of how Clinton was forced to undergo impeachment hearings for a BJ while dubbya can hide behind executive privilege even while trampling the Constitution with warrentless domestic spying programs?

...oh no wait, I've got it...maybe its because Clinton always portrayed himself as an average guy while Bush, on the other hand, tries to make himself look like a go getting, hard hitting, tough Texan....when in fact he just likes sending others to war, and when it comes to being in harms way himself he is a bigger sissy than Clinton....but at least Clinton didn't make himself a hypocrite by pretending he was something he isn't.

First of all, Kerry did serve in the military. Clinton did avoid the draft. The problem most have with Bush is, he AVOIDED combat, yet has no problem sending thousands and thousands of troops to do his dirty work. It's hypocritical.

You're incorrect about Kerry. Don't you remember? He served in Vietnam. He told everyone that every chance he got in the campaign. But, you're right about the double standard!
