I would say Los Angeles, because that is a hard city, and you can easily get lost. If I lived in Los Angeles I probably never know how to get back home. There are a lot of streets in Los Angeles, and everything is sideways.

Chicago is a lot easier, because they have a northside, westside, southside, and a eastside. They have a North, West, South, and a east on their streets. I would probably get nowhere if I live in Los Angeles.

Los Angeles is more difficult because of the non-descript sprawl. Also, there's no good public transportation system.

Chicago has the lake to help provide orientation. On the other hand, LA was built on an expansive desert in all directions.

Finally, from a navigational standpoint, have you ever landed in LA international airpot at night? You're thinking, "How am I ever going to find my way around this place? You see no man made or geographic markers. You can't tell where LA ends and the surrounding cities begin. All you see is an endless see of lights stretching forever across the horizon. It's inspiring, but also very daunting.

I've survived 51 years pretty darned well here in Los Angeles. And you can find your way around by looking at what mountains you see, where downtown and Century City are, and where the ocean is. The one time I was in Chicago (and not the best parts, either) I couldn't tell up from down, North from South...it is all so damned FLAT! And with a grey sky above you couldn't even tell the direction from the path of the sun...it was kind of scary.

L.A. has a North, South, East and West also... L.A. was harder for me, because of the location and my direction sense was way off. But you get used to it after awhile, i lived there for 4 years.

been to Chicago and I had an easy time getting around there.

LOL you are lost already! There is no east side in Chi, it is Lake Michigan!
Actually I wouldn't want to be lost in either city, there are some really dangerous places in each.
I like Chi better!
