The two posters directly above me are absolutely correct. Windows XP Home is not able to connect to a Domain, nor is XP Media Center easily connected to a Domain. However, if your office uses a Workgroup and not a Domain all is not lost.

I too reccomend you contact your network administrator, and if your office does not have one, then the office person who is in charge of the computers and network. There are several things neccasary to configure and you don't want to mess up your home connections.

Good luck and have a great day!

Ask the Network administrator for the settings. If your office is running a domain controller and you have XP home
you may not be able to share the network resources
but if the network is only running in workgroup mode you need to be a part of the same workgroup.
your company's network administrator can help you better than me.

Using XP home is a little trickier than if it was PRO because HOME has removed the enterprise authentication pieces BUT it can be done. The best thing to do is contact your network administrators and get their help. They may have to alter the permissions for the printers to allow you to do this or know the IP addresses of the printers if you are printing directly.

You need to set it to the same workgroup as the other machines, then connect it to the network. You may need assistance from the company IT, as they may need to allow this. Also if they have a domain in place your home version can not join a domain.

once you quite desire to flow wireless, use a extreme %. on the spot connection (802.11g, extra helpful!), and one that has a extreme variety. in spite of the undeniable fact that, I strongly disagree with going wireless, because it is sluggish, generally unreliable, and in case you haven't any longer have been given any WEP key, the community and its computers are liable to 'passers via ability of'. I recommend going cable, in spite of the undeniable fact that use a community hub server, so cable from A (with) to B (quickly with), then use a community hub server on the different end.
