Hey if your husband cheats and deep inside you know no matter how mad you get,how annoyed or miserable you may feel and you feel no matter what he does or who he does your not ready to leave yet.. then why not take the big expensive gift from the big jerk.. better than the other woman have the expensive gift too.. LOL is all about the fool and the fool who loves the fool..

The expensive gift is given by the hubby out of guilt for what he is doing behind her back. So, if anything, it is making the affair even more obvious!!!

I don't see how getting an expensive gift is supposed to shut someone up. I am not that shallow, and he would be wearing that gift permanately!!!

Maybe the women married the guy for his money in the first place. Thus, this is enough for her. She might be having affairs too.

I agree, i think its shallow, but it maybe that that is what they were raised with, monkey see monkey do? meaning that if her father did that to her mother, or her parents would get her stuff when she was dissapointed instead of just being there then she maybe living in some kind of delusional world, she may also just deal with it but likes the stuff??

Perhaps he has a fetish that she doesn't want to deal with, so she takes the expensive gifts as payment for turning a blind eye on his indescretions.

I think it's the other way around........the men think they can shut their wives up by buying them expensive gifts. Might work in the short-term but eventually........no.

I think they just believe he needs to be punished, and an expensive gift is a way to atone and be forgiven.

You wouldn't shut me up!!!! That is ridiculous. Any woman who lets her self esteem be bought like that is a fool. And if you let him get away with it more than once...you deserve what you get.
