Hell No!!!! We The People, can make ourselves secure, by uniting, as a PEOPLE!!!!!! We have already lost to much of our freedoms. I don't know if you know, but the president of the United States, has already passed a directive, without the consent of our lame congress anyway, that allows the president to take total control of the government, without going through congress, in the matter of national security, homeland security. He pushed it through, May 20th, 2007. Look it up!!!! If we have a national disaster, very vague, but yes he or she, (the president), can take control of the country, territories, reservations, ultimate control. DICTATORSHIP

There's lots of examples of giving up freedom for security.
Driver's licenses for example. You give up the freedom to drive whenever you want for the security that you're less likely to be killed on the road.
It's finding the proper balance that's the key.

Absolutely not....the fact that we are not secure has nothing to do with our freedoms. It has to do with the fact that our borders are wide open and a terrorist could walk into our country anytime they want.

NO way. But that thought is precisely what our administration is hoping for- to instill enough fear into the people that they relinquish their liberties for the sake of safety.

No. Life can never be made risk-free or totally secure, and liberty is too important.

America is a very paranoid nation..that thinks the whole world is out to get it, jealous of it or wants to steal it's stuff..
Maybe we should try to allieviate a bit of paranoia first?
