The former home of legendary newspaper magnate William Randolph Hearst and Marion Davies was listed for sale this week with a price-tag that makes it the most expensive residential real estate listing in the United States.

The Beverly Hills mansion set in 6.5 acres, with 29 bedrooms, three swimming pools, tennis courts, state-of-the-art movie theater and disco is for sale for $US165 million .

Just this week, Good Morning America had a bit about a house some sultan from Saudia Arabia is putting his house in Colorada up for sale at over $150,000,000. This was to be the most expensive house in the US.

In todays paper, a house belonging to the Hearst's is to go up for sale in California for slightly higher than that.

Smart aleck answer: The White House. People spend hundreds of millions of dollars just for the chance to live there for four years. Plus, the furnishings are truly priceless.

I believe it's the Biltmore Estate in Ashville, NC. That's the biggest I think. I'm not sure if it's the most expensive. You can look that part up.
