The Blue Man group is the ****....Cirque De Soli...the best free shows gotta be the pirate show at Tresure Island, and the water show at the Bellagio. And the shops there are great.
Go to Old Vegas to see some "real" sights. Um I dont know if the Hilton still has that Star Track show but it was cool and cheap to. Paris Hotel and Casino is also a sight to see.

Definately visit downtown Las Vegas while you are there, but I like staying on the strip the best - Ceasars Palace is great.
There's a little tiny casino at the end of the strip - down by the Stratosphere called "Slots of Fun". And it is! Cheap drinks and loose slots.
There are always great shows and headliners out there. Tickets should be bought in advance for the big names though.
Go to a Buffet - they are all good. The Flamingo has a great Champaigne Brunch that is very reasonable- all the food you can eat!
Vegas is great - enjoy! I'm leaving to go there next month!

The best value buffets are not on the strip.
The strip is for tourists that don't have transportation to get off the strip, and are a captive audience for the overpriced meals. Way overpriced IMO.
Locals eat off the strip.
Try the Orleans, Silverton and Main Street Station (Downtown) for great value buffets, AND you can get 2 for 1 coupons for the buffets by oredering a book called
AMERICAN CASINO GUIDE 2007 Edition. (Author Steve Bourie) Available on Amazon, eBay etc. Coupons good until Dec '07, also good for some shows and a few casino bets.
You need to go downtown and get the FREMONT STREET EXPERIENCEfun book coupons for a Main St 2 for 1
It's well worth the cost of the book if you are going to LV for 3 or 4 days or more. LOADS of great coupons in this book.
Silverton Lunch Buffet is $9.95 and 2 for 1 in the book, amazing meal for 2 for $10 !!
Others are $15 max, but 2 for1's are in the book.
You need a car to get off the strip for Silverton or Orleans, but you can take a bus downtown for Main Street Stn.
The book is WELL worth the cost if you are there for a few days with a car. Have Fun !

MGM has a great casino and a nice theme. If you stay at there Signature Suites, it will be quiet an experience. My bf and I stayed at the Signature and we had a Junior Suite. In the suite was our own personal stove, blender, toaster, spa (hot tub), perfect view of the AWESOME pool. There pool has a lazy river where you can just chill on a tube and the river will push you around. Not to mention that it has 4 different pools and a couple jacuzzies. There actual spa is great. My bf and I have been there twice and its so nice, calming, and relaxing. The Studio 54 club is a fun club to hang out at. We stayed there for about 4 nights and it cost roughly 600-700.
My bf and I absolutely loved MYSTERE. It is a must see show. It is highly worth it to see during your stay.
Great buffets are at Bellagio, Alladin, Rio.
Need more info? Let me know, I'm full of ideas

go during the weekdays - everything is cheaper - table limits, rooms, restaurants/buffets lines/waits shorter some clubs that go off during the week Foundation room @ Mandalay Bay & Jet @ Mirage goes off on Mondays Thursday RAH @ Luxor has crazy hip hop night Studio 54 @ MGM.... as far as the strip bars.. I think Vegas outlawed lap dancing but Speriment Rhino is full nude Cheetahs and OGz (Olympic Gardens) are topless only.. Best advice ask your taxi driver for passes to the clubs or strip bars they got the hook ups!!! just give them a good tip...have fun and party like a rockstar!!!

If you want to be near the Strip I recommend actually staying at a hotel on the strip. Also I mean closer in strip, not the Stratosphere end. It might be slightly more expensive but you will save money in taxi costs.
I got a good deal at the Monte Carlo before, but a lot of hotels have similar deals. My stay came with a little coupon book for food/drinks/spa, but again, most hotels offer something like this. Try looking on www.lasvegas.com for specific costs and what you get with your room.

I lived in Vegas for twenty years. No one ever goes up to the old resort on Mt. Charleston, the ski resort, the many other places in and around Vegas. All they ever think about is Getting a girl (like, what do they expect) or gambling away all their money.
Go see a couple of shows. Rent a car and go up to dinner or breakfast on Mt. Charleston.
Go out to Red Rock Canyon, see what Vegas is really like, it's a nice place to see really.
