I have a folder of small clips, mostly MPEG files, some WMV. When I leave this folder open in thumbnail view while I work with the clips, Explorer constantly crashes.

In order to properly answer your question more information is needed. Due to the fact that many different things could cause this to occur, it is important to know your computer configuration, such as what version you are running, how much memory you have installed, how old it is, how your virtual memory is configured, when this problem began, and what you were doing directly prior to it happening, such as any software or hardware you may have added to your system, etc.
