Maybe some free workout apparel? Like a t-shirt with the health club's logo on it?

I like the coupons for smoothies idea..
If you work it right you may be able to swing a deal with a local coffee shop for discounts on smoothies or lattes.

Do you have special treatments that you offer, like massages? Those might be good.
Or throw in free classes, or give everyone an added week as thanks.
People love free stuff. Some of this won't cost you much, and it'll be worth it in good PR.

Everybody gives out water bottles, or a workout shirt, if you want to be different and classy. Give them my candles. They are awesome. 100 different scents, I can sell you a box of 24 very reasonable. Also health clubs stink to me, you might consider using my candles Visit my website

Free passes to an oriental spa (also known as a rub & tug in some circles). Works every time.

If some areas are still open, offer them free bottled water to rinse the dust away. If it is really noisy provide throw away earplugs.
