Since molality is measured in moles solute per kg of solvent, you have to first change the HgCl to moles. Divide 11.75 by the molar mass, 236.04 g. You end up with 0.04978 moles. That number of moles divided by one kg of water is equal to 0.1 molar. (0.04978 mol/x kg = 0.1 m)
Simple algebra leaves you with 0.4978 kg, or 497.8 grams of water.
I hope that helps.
