the processor is fine trust me, changing to a core2duo from that one would get u about 10 points in 3dmark if any ... i would get a larger psu tho but that one should suffice until u can get one ... everything else looks good and it should be a great gaming system .. if the motherboard is sli ready even better ..

The major weakpoint is the processor. A Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 would be much better. I hear that the Geforce 8500 is not much good either (really hot), so I would go a bit higher to a 8600. The performance increase would be great too.
And that power supply.... Are you sure that is enough? I think you will need more like 500 watts. Keep in mind that power supplies do not always give off what they say, will wear out and give off less over time, and you want room to upgrade later without replacing it. I would go for 600 watts or so if I were you.
EDIT:
battledog50: Seriosly, if you have no idea what you are talking about, don't post. First of all, DVD players are backwards compatible with CDs. Secondly, what game would even fit on a CD? Games that are available for CD usually cost more, and the kinds of games you would play on a computer like this would not even come on one. Who buys a $1000+ computer and then skips the *CD* player? I don't know if you would even be able to find one of those any more.
Sorry, I am just rather annoyed with people posting blatantly inaccurate information. Do your research if you do not know the area.

umm so far yes but you need to know the type of processor. Make sure it is a core 2 duo and the sound card should probably not be onboard
