Does anyone know how much runners get paid in athletics?

Runners can make good money in some places and next to nothing, well actually -nothing in some places.

It depends on the popularity of running or track where the event is held, the athlete, the athlete's skill, the athlete's agent's skill, and how much event organizers are willing to shell out to get a particular runner to participate, just to name a few factors.

Runners hardly get paid. Believe it or not, most of the money is in Europe where track meets bring in more cash.

Most money is in sponsorship, but you have to be top 20 in the world in your sport. Unless you are that good or plan to be that good, your track career will end after college like the rest of us (yes I am bitter)
