It's more a problem of poor parental job. If the parents aren't keeping their kids behaving properly in public, then they should all be thrown out of the plane.

Either way, Child Free Flights aren't going to happen in most cases, because all what airlines care about are how many bodies there are on the plane, so they can get Money off the passengers. I wouldn't see Ryanair trying to make people happy now, would you?
In my point of view, right now Children are being stereotyped, and that's a bit unfair to them, especially the 5 year olds who are shy and behave to be known as little brats who run up and down in the isles, dance in the washroom, and kick the back of people's seats.
Although in many cases there will always be the silly children who like to do those things but its their parents who won't stop them, and there is really nothing we can do about that, since we are sitting in an aluminum tube for 7 hours over the Ocean.
If you are unhappy with a child kicking the back of you seat you don't have to stay in your assigned seat you know. And if its a full flight and you're worried about kicking, maybe you would prefer to have the child run up and down the isles or dance around in the bathroom?
So my answer for Child Free Flights= No
-Airlines probable don't care
-We were all kids at some point in time

Benadryl is a good idea. Its a safe way to keep kids calm. I have never flown and neither have my children. My daughter (youngest) is a good kid and almost always behaves and does what she is told, but in certain circumstances she can become a little unruly and I think her first time on a plane could be one of those times.
I don't think that just because you see an unruly child means that its due to bad parenting either. Children just like adults have their moments and haven't quite learned how to control their emotions.

I think parents need to purchase Benadryl and medicate the ones that can't be calm. I have three kids under the age of 4, we fly all the time and they never cause problems. I have seen drunk adults cause more problems than my kids. We actually had to stop a non-stop flight to get a drunk jerk off the plane before. I come from a family full of M.D.'s that are big Benadryl advocates, as is my pediatrician. If it gets to the point where kids are getting thrown off flights regularly, lets stop serving alcohol and force passengers to use deodorant and brush their teeth as well. It pure crap to think that kids can behave all the time, but parents doing nothing to calm them down is the problem.

No, what if the whole Kinder class will travel on an airplane? It means they are all free. I don't think so.
