Every year around this time i get optimistic about how the lions will do only to be let down by week 6 or 7. I think they have talent but nothing ever comes together. Could this be the year the Lions put it together?

They will win maybe 2-3 more games if they're lucky, but as far as them improving, they've done nothing. Yes they have what looks to be the best WR group in Roy Williams, Calvin Johnson, and Mike Furrey. They acquired a good RB in Tatem Bell, and a experienced TE in Marcus Pollard. But i'm not sold on John Kitna yet. He did throw for over 4,000 yards and 22 TDs last year. That's standard in Mike Martz's Offense. He also threw 22 INTS and was sacked 60+ times, which means that offensive line needs to get better really fast.

On defense...well, for lack of better words, what defense? Aside from Rookie linebacker Ernie Sims last year, they have no real playmakers now that Dre Bly is gone and with Shaun Rogers now being constantly hurt. Teams will look to attack that defense both through the air and on the ground with relative ease.

In a nutshell, this tea is too one sided to be improved, and even their offense isn't as high powered as the Colts to carry them to enough wins to make the playoffs. I predict that teams will be looking to blitz and attack that weak offensive line early in games to rattle and sack Kitna; and when their offense sputters at times, their defense can't keep them in the game, which will result in losses.

Prediction: 6-10

They're the Lions, so I'm gonna say they finish 6-10, sorry. Trading Dre Bly was a huge mistake. I think Calvin Johnson and Roy Williams have the potential to be the best 1-2 punch we've ever seen catch footballs, and if Kevin Jones is healthy, he's good. But the defense stinks.

We're gonna go pretty far this year!!!!!! We're gonna shock the NFL! We have a good quarterback in Jon Kitna. If he can't do the job we have the rookie Drew Stanton to help out. Our receiving corps are pretty good with Roy Williams who led the NFC in receiving yards, and the newly drafted Calvin Johnson. We have three decent runningbacks in Tatum Bell, T.J. Duckett, and Kevin Jones! Other than our offensive line problems, our offense should be prolific and dangerous next year. Our defense is getting better! The whole unit is now in theirsecond year in the defensive system of Rod Marinelli's, who was the assistant coach and defensive line coach for the Bucs. Marinelli developed two great players in Warren Sapp and Simeon Rice. The same can happen with Shaun Rogers and the rookie from Hawaii. They linebacking corps should be better with Ernie Sims headed into his second year. The secondary with Kennoy Kenneddy and Danny Bullocks should be better next year as well.

I think we can go maybe 6-10 or 7-9.

ill say in 2 or 3 years they will get to be a contender in the NFC North, but they are too young. first of all, Kitna may throw for large yards but he isnt going to dominate in the big games. therefore, i would wait on Stanton to get developed. secondly, they dont have a very good secondary. if they improve this next offseason, they will be much better. they don't have a great running back (forgot his name) as well as an o -line so i think that is an area they can add some depth to also. But i sincerely hope they kick the Bears ***.

5 -11 or 6 -10

They will be fun to watch with the offensive talent but their defense will not be good. I see a 5-11 season. Next year, IF Millen is gone and they build up their defense they should make a push for the playoffs. However, this is the Lions so expect the worse and hope for respectability.

No, they have a great set of receivers in Williams and Johnson, but still have no O line and with Kevin Jones still hurt there running game also took a step back. This year will be like the past few years for them.

I dont see how anyone can be optimistic about the Lions. No, they will not put anything together this year or next year.

I do know they will draft another wide receiver next year.

As a life long Lions fan I still say 5-11 at best. Still no defense.

On paper, the Lions have a chance to be decent offensively. but i think they will win 7 to 8 games because of offense alone Mike Martz is a guru

they have very good receivers but no one who can throw the ball and that's the GM fault they pick receivers 1st in the last three drafts, and they all kind of chock because there is no QB. Oh and bye the way the BEARS will kick there butts this year by at least 20 points each game.
