Depends on the market and the team. Bigger name teams that bring in more people in the stands and make the playoffs quite often pay their GM's more. The average for the NHL is 1.5 million. Some GM's are bringing in around 3 million.....but they are in a great hockey market and they also get money from corporate sponsors and stupid stuff like that. It is almost like the players. The players get paid lets say 3 million, but they can make up to 5 million with endorsement deals. The GM can use the team to gain more money as long as some big name players come into their huge arenas.

That's hard to say, as the numbers usually aren't publicized. The average coach is closing in on $1 million a year, I believe. Some general managers are above that and some are below that, depending on responsibilities.
In other words, Glen Sather of the Rangers certainly was well paid to leave Edmonton and is making a big salary in New York -- more than any coach. Same with Lou Lamoriello with New Jersey. I would guess Darcy Regier and Lindy Ruff are pretty close in Buffalo; Ruff may even be a little ahead.

I'm going to address the Semin issue, because that NEEDS to be addressed. Brads was 100% accurate in everything he said, it wasn't a big secret! Semin has the POTENTIAL to be the best player in the league. Better than Ovie, hell, MAYBE even better than Crosby (thumbs down you bastards), but he is an KHL player. Meaning, he only wants the money and doesn't actually want to play hard. He knows he's good, so he thinks he doesn't have to try. He plays with ZERO heart, effort, whatever the hell you want to call it. It's infuriating as hell to see a lot of the grinders and hard workers on your team work their f*cking asses off for a quarter of what he gets paid to keep the penalty box seat warm. There is absolutely NO excuse for his behavior and play. He's just a lazy waste of salary cap which needs to take a one way ticket to the KHL, because that is obviously where he wants to be. Another thing; Ovechkin. Yeah, that elephant. Ovie, the league has figured you out. You need to listen to you're coach. I don't care if you think he's the biggest idiot who has ever walked this earth, he was hired because the GM thought he was the best guy to lead your team to victory. As a Captain, and a player, you need to respect that and listen. He knows what he's talking about. It's also a fact that this is the new Ovie. He isn't going to be an extreme offensive power house, due to many reasons, one stated above. But if actually went out and just played! To all you people saying it was roids that made Ovie who he was; you are a disgrace to NHL fans and the NHL itself. I, as a fan, would never, ever accuse anyone of roids unless there is/was tangible evidence. You have none of that, just speculation on the "masseuse" or whatever his title was. You are disgracing a players name for no other reason than spite or whatever you want to call it. Boudreau, he's lost his players. As much as I hate to admit it, no one's listening because Ovie's not listening. As I stated above. He;s a good coach and it hasn't been all his fault at all for the Caps early exists and losing streaks. He can't get on the ice and play for them, they have to actually show up and play with some god damn heart. Which they haven't done the past few years and haven't done recently. He can change the lines, curse, just do whatever! But if the players don't decide to play themselves he may as well be speaking gibberish while doing the hula. THe players aren't motivated and it f*cking shows. BQ* I'm pretty sure I've covered it in above paragraphs... I'm done.

Most of them are grossly overpaid. I would guess about 2 million a season is around the going rate.
