I lost a bunch of weight and I have very big breasts which did a nose dive afterwards. I want a breast reduction with a lift but my insurance will only pay if they can take off 500 grams of tissue which would leave me at a small B so I have to pay for it myself if I want a C cup. I don't have the $10,000. Anyone know anyone or a way to get a freebie or minimal cost surgery? I worked hard to lose the weight, took over 2 years, so am very disappointed in my insurance not covering this in a reasonable way. Can you help me find a way? Thanks!

Free or discount plastic surgery sounds very, very risky. Have you approached your doctor to see if he/she will do the surgery as required by your insurance but fudge the numbers a bit so that you are left with more tissue, but the insurance is happy? More often than not, doctors want to do what is best for you and your body and not necessarily stick to the broader requirements of the insurance company. Wouldn't hurt to ask!

I wouldn't risk trying to find the cheapest Plastic Surgeon as who knows what you may end up with. The only solution would be trying to save as much money as you can and then take out a personal loan of some sort. Won't your insurance still cover the hospital costs? If so then that is great as you will save a few thousand dollars.

I do not have any form of health insurance so I took out a loan for my surgery. I borrowed enough for the whole procedure AU $11,500. My loan is over 2 years so it only costs me AU $125 a week in repayments (1 days work so its pretty good)

I can tell you the insurance will only pay if that amount is removed because if they are any bigger it can be looked at as cosmetic that you aren't having more removed to leave you with a c-cup. I would talk with your doctor and see what they say.

I would try to fight with the insurance company.

Try taking out a loan?

Overseas or Mexico. But you cannot guarantee it. Thinking a least expensive way may not be the safest.
