Ok, so I KNOW I have asked several times about potential baby movement and everyone keeps telling me "you'll know it when you feel it". I'm 18 weeks today and the past couple days I've been feeling like something inside of me is twitching. Imagine an eye twitch but inside, but the only problem is its no where near where my uterus is.

My uterus is still down below my belly button and I'm feeling the twitching up towards my ribcage. So is it possible I'm feeling the baby moving and it's just vibrating (can't think of a better word for it) up and I can feel it higher up than it's happening? Or is it something else maybe? I know it's not indigestion or gas or anything like that. It just feels like twitches, almost in my diaphragm area. But a twitching diaphragm stimulates hiccuping... so I don't think its that.

I'm not really worried... just confused. And annoyed that I still can't tell if I can feel my baby moving or not =(

i'm not concerned about my baby's movement - he's always active during U/S (i have another in 2 weeks), and I can see sometimes when he's located on one side (it's like a lump... haha). But I just can't FEEL it yet. nerve twitches sound possible, but that frequent? and why all of a sudden?

I'm glad you asked this question! I am 19 weeks and have been feeling that same "twitching feeling" in my lower abdomen over the past couple days. I thought it was my food digesting at first, but it keeps happening, and my food never digested like that!

I am 18 weeks today too! If you are feeling it above your belly button, then most likely it is not the baby. I "think" I have felt the baby move, but it is really confusing. I do believe that the baby is playing around and a lot more active while I am sleeping at night. They say to try and eat something before you go to sleep, then lie awake resting on your side for an hour and see if you can feel something. Don't be worried if you don't, but it's just a suggestion. You should be feeling it soon, just relax.

Well if I could just say that with all of my pregnancies I always felt a fluttery movement. Thats how we knew I was pregnant before the tests. But its usually in the pelvis and lower stomach where you can have these sudden movements early. But any thing higher could be gas or heartburn developing. Its hard to say everyone's pregnacy experiences are very different so if all else fails ask your doctor to possibly do an ultrasound if you are concerned about a moving baby but you should be due for one soon anyway. Good luck to you~~~~~~~~

You're not alone! I'm 19 weeks and I'm still not sure if I have felt the baby. Everyone tells me it will feel like a gas bubble (but I'm not sure I know what a gas bubble feels like). Sometimes I feel some fluttering very low -- so I guess that's maybe the baby.

Sorry I'm not exactly answering your question -- just wanted to say it's not easy telling what is baby and what isn't.

no...usually when u first feel the baby move it'll be below belly button. Starting at around 23 or 24 weeks its when i start feelin movements above my belly button near my ribcage

No if it was by your rib cage that is not baby, sounds like muscle spasms to me, but at 18 weeks it should be any day now, and you will know when that little one moves.
