My old grandmother always used to sneak me and my brother,
cookies. candy , chocolate bars a.s.o. against the wishes of my
parents who really ( and probably rightly ) insisted on healthy food and a healthy lifestyle.
But kids will be kids and we dearly loved our old granny for her
naughtiness. And we loved the goodies too.
Later on when I was well in my twenties and living on my own.
when I visited her and she was dementing a little, she would still
stealthily sneak a mars bar into my pocket when I said my goodbyes , '' don't tell your mom.'' she'd whisper as always.
And I always promised I wouldn't.
She has passed away now, but the candy just doesn't taste
quite the same as it did when it was 'illegal'.

Just being thought of always makes me smile. When my friends call or text me to wish me a good day, or just to let me know what they are up too. Just call and say Hi, for no reason other than they were thinking of you. That will always make me smile :)

My daddy used to take us to the Guernsey Cow Ice Cream Parlor (it had a huge plaster cow on the roof) for cones, and we could have any flavor we wanted of some 50 varieties. I usually got Peanut Butter Fudge, which was swirls of peanut butter and of fudge in vanilla ice cream. Heavenly!

They actually got along. The whole family could get together and have a good time. Now, nobody likes anybody in our family.
