I'm sure there's probably a better way I could've phrased this, but basically would people be excited about the playoff system like they are with the current March Madness bracket

I think it would have as much hype as the NFL playoffs, only more people would bet on the matches....I'd really like to see a playoff in NCAA Football for teams like Boise State, or even some of the smaller schools that get screwed by the rankings...just throwing one out there because it's my team, but Wisconsin for example, a school that's not really that big but could pull and underdog in a playoff. It's just lame that BCS Championship is so subjective....and NCAA would probably make more money with a playoff, that might get them thinking about it, you know how much they like money!!

i have a question though, how many teams are we thinking here? right now we have about 32 bowl games so that would mean 64 teams are involved now. in the NFL playoff the most games a team would play is 4 games. if you wanted all 64 teams to be involved we would be talking about 6 games. so right now most teams are playing between 12 and 14 games a season, so a team could play as many as 20 games in a season. it just seems like a lot of games for a team to get through at this level. but i do agree what we have now isn't working. However having less than 64 teams involved is going to make it that much worse for lessor conference teams. Probably going to have to vote for 64 team bracket.

Nah, filling out a bracket isn't fun if there are only 4 or 8 teams. March Madness is so much cause people enjoy filling out 65 team brackets. Still college football needs a 4 team playoff.

Yes, in fact if you watched ESPN had a special segment about it the NCAA football had a playoff. The only downside to college football having a playoff is the fact that the team your cheering for has a number one seed and they get knocked out of the playoffs in the first round. That would really suck.

Seriously, an NCAA Div I football playoff would be the biggest thing in American sports after the Super Bowl. In my opinion, it would eclipse March Madness.

yes, definitely! i would love it if ncaa football had a playoff system. then every team would have a shot at the national championship instead of just the teams in the 6 big conferences.

I think that would be a great idea but I would rather have the system as it is it usually gets the right national champion.
