had a nice surprise: An additional $10 was tacked on.
What are they giving me a bigger box?
Are they delivering my mail with Golden Gloves on?

With the increase of emails, and the law of supply and demand should the POST OFFICE be coming down on prices to stay with the competition?

yeah, annual fees: postal box.

I have both home and p.o. box delivery. the p.o.box serves as a security channel.

The post office is the only government agency that is not supported by taxes. There for to cover costs they must charge for their services. This means that as prices rise in their expense accounts they must raise prices to cover those costs. It takes an act of congress to increase rates and this is usually done every couple of years. So in answer to your question, no the law of supply and demand does not apply, only expenses and revenue.

Don't renew your PO box for about a month! If everyone did this, they wouldn't know what to do! Can't you just picture the sorters getting all red in the face while trying to cram more mail in all the boxes of the people who haven't renewed yet because they're trying to either come up with the extra $10.00 or decide whether to give it up altogether! Lol! They can't take everyone's mail out and put it somewhere else until you finally renew!

Make'm "stuff it"!

I would like to read statistics on how much mail was delivered during each of the past ten years. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that every day more and more people are going paperless and abandoning snail mail for e-mail.

So, why are YOU having to pay MORE for a PO box? Are you having to make up for the loss of income they are experiencing because people aren't buying their stamps like they used to?

That's NOT fair!

You mean fees for a PO Box? Their expenses go up (rent, electric, taxes, etc.......) and really, it's less than a dollar a month. Have your mail sent to your residence or office- that's free.

Everyone wants what they feel they have coming to them! What would make you think our esteemed Government would be any different??
