Unfortunately pretty usually gets you farther than smarts...

By posing this question are you simplistically implying a person cannot be both???? The world is not all black and white. I'm pretty by societies standards, and smart by my own..heh heh. But, I am also so much more than just a pretty, smart person. I'm also creative, sensitive, empathetic, good natured, comedic, the list goes on and on.

smart. because beauty is only skin deep. and intelligence will take you farther out into the real world than looks. appearance change, so you might not be pretty forever to depend on your beauty for everything.

I would choose both, but if I had to pick one, it would definitely be intelligence because I can change the way I look but smarts come naturally.

I'd rather be smart. Although one can argue if you're pretty, you can study and be smart. If you're ugly, it's more difficult to become pretty!

well being just pretty won't really get you anywhere in life, and you wouldnt be able to learn how to be smart if you were only pretty and had no brains. i would choose smart because I would be smart enough to beautify myself if I needed to.

idk. i was an ugly kid, then as i grew up i became attractive. since then, my confidence has gone way up and i've found myself achieving more. this of course wouldn't be possible in my field without intelligence (i'm an engineer), but i think being attractive really helped build my confidence.
so to answer your question; i'm not sure. i'd rather be smart, but i don't feel i would be able to take full advantage of it without the confidence i've gained from being attractive.
